Había sido sometida a múltiples aplicaciones en ambos ojos de aflibercept y panfotocoagulación bilateral con argón láser, logrando controlar parcialmente la vasoproliferación secundaria a su patología de base. Procedimos a realizarle una prueba con angiotomografía de coherencia óptica de campo ultra amplio (WF-OCTA) con el equipo TowardPi BMizar 400KHz (TowardPi Medical Technology, Beijing, China). En los cortes segmentados (desde la membrana limitante interna hasta el vítreo posterior) podemos observar un claro ejemplo de neovascularización derivada de la arcada temporal inferior del ojo derecho, la que subyace desde la vasculatura interna de la retina y prolifera hacia el vítreo. Utilizando un corte lineal y la herramienta de pseudo-color que nos ofrece el equipo de OCTA, se resalta el flujo sanguíneo y la neovascularización adherida a la hialoides posterior1. La proliferación microvascular retinal puede derivar en complicaciones como el hemovítreo con caída de la agudeza visual y deterioro en la calidad de vida de este tipo de pacientes.
