Materiales y métodos: Se siguieron las recomendaciones de la guía PRISMA para realizar la revisión sistemática. La búsqueda se realizó en febrero de 2025 e incluyó publicaciones desde el año 2000 en adelante en inglés o español. Se utilizaron diferentes combinaciones de palabras clave para identificar estudios que evaluaran los siguientes aspectos visuales en conductores ferroviarios: (1) agudeza visual, (2) campo visual y (3) visión cromática. También se compararon los requisitos establecidos por la Comisión Nacional de Regulación del Transporte (CNRT) de Argentina con los estándares internacionales. Los datos se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva. Resultados: De un total de 27 estudios identificados, 12 cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Se observó una escasa cantidad de publicaciones con alto nivel de evidencia y ningún trabajo basado en consenso de expertos. No se identificaron cambios significativos en los métodos de evaluación visual en los últimos 25 años. Tampoco existe un criterio internacional unificado sobre los requerimientos visuales mínimos, aunque se destaca la importancia de la visión cromática binocular. Conclusión: Pese a la relevancia de la visión cromática en esta profesión no se evidencian actualizaciones sustanciales en las evaluaciones visuales. Las nuevas tecnologías y condiciones de trabajo actuales justifican revisar y actualizar los estándares visuales para operadores ferroviarios.
