Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal que incluyó 100 participantes sanos (200 ojos) de entre 7 a 17 años de edad que asistieron al Hospital Central Universitario “Dr. Antonio María Pineda” entre marzo a julio de 2024. Se utilizó un OCT de dominio espectral para evaluar el grosor de la capa de fibras nerviosas (CFN), el complejo de células ganglionares (CCG) y el grosor macular. Se realizó la descripción de los datos y la comparación entre sexos y ojos derechos e izquierdos. Resultados: La edad media fue 11,07 ± 2,60 años; el 70% tenía entre 7-12 años y 52% era de sexo femenino. El grosor de la CFN no presentó diferencias estadísticas entre ojo derecho e izquierdo, pero para el grosor temporal sí hubo diferencias (p <0,05). El grosor macular para ambos ojos fueron similares, lo mismo que para el CCG. El grosor de la CFN, grosor macular y el grosor del CCG por ojo y por sexo no mostraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas. Sí hubo diferencias en el volumen macular donde era mayor en los varones y en ambos ojos (p <0,05). Los tres parámetros fueron similares para los grupos de 7-12 años y de 13-17 años. Conclusiones: Se describieron los datos de normalidad para nuestra población de 7 y 17 años de edad de ambos sexos utilizando un equipo OCT de dominio espectral, esperando que pueda ser de utilidad como referencia para la futura determinación de patologías.
