Materiales y métodos Se realizó un estudio observacional, transversal, mediante un cuestionario digital difundido a nivel nacional entre octubre de 2023 y marzo de 2024. Se incluyeron pacientes con diagnóstico clínico de EB, o sus cuidadores, que otorgaron consentimiento informado. El formulario relevó datos demográficos, tipo y herencia de la EB, acceso a diagnóstico genético, tratamientos dermatológicos, complicaciones oftalmológicas y percepción del impacto visual en la vida diaria. Resultados Se recopilaron datos de 84 pacientes (edad promedio: 18,4 años; 52% varones). La mayor concentración de casos se registró en la provincia de Buenos Aires, seguida de Córdoba y Santa Fe. El subtipo más frecuente fue EB distrófica (n=40), seguida de EB simple (n=17). El 26% no tenía acceso a diagnóstico genético. El 16,5% reportó complicaciones oftalmológicas que requirieron atención urgente, siendo úlceras y lesiones oculares las más comunes. Entre estos, el 39% refirió disminución de la agudeza visual, frente al 8% en quienes no presentaron urgencias oftalmológicas. El 31% señaló algún grado de impacto visual en sus actividades cotidianas. Conclusión Este estudio es el primero en caracterizar la EB a nivel nacional en Argentina, evidenciando desigualdades en el acceso a diagnóstico genético y cuidados oftalmológicos. Los hallazgos refuerzan la necesidad de implementar protocolos de seguimiento multidisciplinario y de establecer un registro nacional que integre datos clínicos y moleculares para optimizar la atención y la investigación en enfermedades poco frecuentes.
